What is a Trunk Show?
A Trunk Show is an in-store event where a vendor presents the newest styles and colors from their line’s latest seasonal selection. As Laurie’s customers you are invited to come into our store to check out and try on these new additions.
We have been holding Trunk Shows since we opened our doors in 1951 and are one of the few retailers left today that still host them. The term Trunk Show originates form vendors traveling from store to store to show off their latest goods to retailers and customers. They transported their products in a large trunk, hence the name!
What happens at a Trunk Show?
You can expect to see new styles, including our Featured Shoe, that have already arrived for the season, but also receive a sneak-peek at footwear that will arrive in the coming weeks and months. These styles will be available for preorder. Additionally, you will be able to special order styles from the vendor that we may not be receiving at all.
In many cases, a representative from our vendor is able to attend to answer any questions customers may have about the brand and educate on new technologies being introduced by the company. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the brand and the new offerings.
Finally, as a gift for attending our Trunk Show and purchasing something from our featured brand, Laurie’s likes to provide a free gift. This gift with purchase varies from show to show, so keep an eye out for updates on what to expect!
